I Want To Be Heard By TauqeerBekwi

I want to be heard!  😭

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story" activist and author Maya angelou said.

Stories bring us together while untold stories keep us apart. Never judge someone before lending an ear to his or her side of story, because EVERYBODY has a story.

Have you noticed it?

Do you bear the torment of an untold story?

I have too, and thats why I want to be heard!

I want to spout the clamour etched in my mind.

I want to be heard, even if it is late into the night.

No! No!

I can't be heard!

Two scribes deputed on my shoulders by God are given the task to jot down every single word of mine.

But, I want to rebel right now!

I want to tear apart the cage, because I'm of the opinion that sometimes, its good to break the rules.

Let me say the unsaid,

last night, I was STARING at a booklet of Elif Shafak having pencil in my hand. Some unpleasant feelings of past distracted me. I felt there should be someone to tell them the untold.

In spite of trying mountain amount of effort to focus, all in vain, ended up with drawing meaningless squiggles on rough pages.

Eventually, fall to the camaraderie of sleep without telling someone the unsaid.

I was dreaming about people who bear an untold story in this so called modern, rational, democratic and pluralistic society.

Not to speak of authoritarian regime,  Dalia Research says that more than half of the people are "never" heard in this so called era of democracy.

I believe that in losing our voice, something dies in us!

Let's heard the unheard!

Lets say the unsaid!

Lets pour the heart!

but wait!

Who will hear me?

Who?

If I cried out, who would hear me?

Who will badger?

The human's hiearchies?

My Busy fellows??

My Parents??

Even, If I have to shout my grievances from the rooftop of Hostel, would it bring a slight impact on the deaf ears?

Not my personal cry, but if it is a collective cry or our shared feelings, will it affect the increasingly tangled world?

People who have much to say, a distinctive story to tell, often do not do because they FEAR of the deaf ears, of the people whose hearts are clad in stones, whose minds are overshadowed by materialism and modernism.

The unsaid will remain unsaid, it will swell, come out rotten in a form of unvarnished truths and deadly hard hitting injunctions.

Nobody is there to care!

Nobody wants to hear the unheard!

Cobbling together, nobody cares, because our egos aside, we've transformed from humans to something else!

Yes! the bearers of untold stories will take refuge in soliloquy, scribbling and drawing squiggles with deadly distractions in their way.

Let them hide the untold story, because we're modern, democratic, rational, technological, scientific and so on!

Let me hide the agony!

Yes, let me hide too!

It's just incredible.
The most deplorable fact of our materialistic society, where everyone is busy in his/her own life. There are bundles of things, which we have to burry inside us and then lament on their graves without giving even the impression of them.

Wow....That's an excellent piece. No doubt that the atonal banshe of modernity is around the corner silencing us, but let me empower you with the hope that the best way to resist is to withhold your ground. Your existence itself is a great threat for the silencing terror. Try to employ all the tools that are at your disposal, all the "little things" (to borrow the phrase from Denzel Washington's latest movie) matter.
